lucido-samsung-oledSamsung Lucido, known as the candybar phone, is to be launched in the recent future. This highly attractive piece of equipment showcases a matt like metallic design which feels great in your palm and not to mention the slick architecture makes it all the more easier to carry around.

This great new Samsung innovation has a 5 megapixel camera which can easily replace your digital camera and most importantly it has all the functions of one too. With face detection, anti blur and smile capture a whole new camera experience is introduced. It is so much easier to take a picture with this phone that even a child could click a classic picture. All this is supported in a 2.2 inch AMOLED display. A camera this size would indirectly suggest more space. Therefore, Samsung has introduced 110MB of internal storage and expandable microSD card slot with up to 8GB of memory enhancement. This is a treat for all out there interested in mega storage of all your pictures, videos and messages.

The Lucido boasts a media player capable of sorting all the songs that this device can carry. It also comes with FM radio and the headset delivers quite a punch to your music life. This phone in particular supports 3G connectivity and therefore can expect exceptional performance in terms of data connectivity. Video calls look great using the Lucido.

The Lucido should post some great contracts in the near future and you can get great deals for the all new Lucido from major service providers.
Another great feature included in the Lucido is the GPS navigation integrated with Google Maps. This acts as a navigation tool to all those looking to find their way. Maps can be downloaded from Google and used to show directions at any given point.

The phone is not yet available in stores. Samsung has plans to unveil the Lucido in the UK market somewhere in April 2009. Other market information and pricing details have not yet been disclosed. For more See Samsung’s mobile site for updates on the Lucido.

The mid-range phone category is a tricky one to break into as, like all middle classes, it’s the most popular, and therefore the most (overly) populated. Sometimes though something shines through the masses and makes itself known, and this time around, for us at least, it’s the Samsung Jet that’s doing that. Even before this thing is turned on it positively hums, with the deep black of the casing so dark and moody it feels like it’s stealing a little of your soul; then the cool red patterning on the back gives you a little of it back; and the sheer heft of the thing as you hold it – not too heavy, not too light; not too curvy, not too straight – is fantastic.

Then once the Samsung Jet’s on there’s a whole new world of fun to be had, thanks in no small part to the TouchWiz user interface that has at its core a cool cube-based navigation system. With an easy rotation device, the 3D cube gives you quick (and fun) access to everything you could want from the phone. And if that wasn’t enough, there’s also a bunch of (customisable) widgets on every homescreen (such as Facebook, Friendster, MySpace, etc.) so you’re never more than a tap or two away from what you want. Add to this the ability to draw a shape to unlock feature, the fully stacked 5MP camera, the new Dolfin browser that loads things in a flash (and also, handily, supports Flash), expandable memory and all the GPS, Wifi and Bluetoothing anyone could need, and you’ve got a very nifty little device indeed.

And did we mention just how damn good the Samsung Jet S8000 looks? We did? Well, who cares, we’ll mention it again. There’s no hint from Samsung as yet about when you might be able to get your hands on this thing, but we’ve a sneeking suspicion it won’t be too far away. And, all being well, you’ll also be able to pick it up for not very much at all, so keep those eyes peeled. There’s a more detailed Samsung Jet Review here, or have a little look at the video below to get yourself as worked up as we are.

Smartphones, they’re so… predictable. We see so many fly under our noses these days that we can barely tell them apart. So what about the Samsung Omnia 2. Does it have Wifi? Check. GPS? Check. 3.5G? Check. Camera around the 5-8 megapixel range? Check…

So when the recent spurt of Samsung announcements about the new Omina series wafted our way, we weren’t expecting much except another few tick boxes hastily checked. However, the Samsung Omnia 2 I8000 has really caught our eye. Which is exactly what you’d expect of something that has a 3.7” AMOLED screen. Or, to translate: the biggest ever screen on a mobile, and a screen made of the hottest new technology that brighter, crisper, thinner and more energy efficient than anything else out there. So we won’t waste our time telling you about the achievable download speeds, the dual LED flash or the expandable MicroSD memory… you know all that. What you don’t know is just how good this screen is. The video below gives a little hint, but you really have to see this thing in action.

Helping it out a great deal is the TouchWiz 2.0 user interface which has more live action widgets, customisable effects and cool looking ways to navigate your phone’s world than you can imagine. What’s more, the video playback makes full use of the 800 x 480 pixels giving DVD-like playback for your travelling-to-work-time-killing entertainment. samsung-mbp200-pico-projector-pmp-1One of the interesting media players in the market today is the Samsung MBP200 Pico Projector. This player stands out as it can be used as a projector in addition to its normal media functions. It is box shaped with a thickness of 19 mm. It weighs only 160 grams. This makes the MBP200 Pico Projector portable which is usually one of the main disadvantages of conventional projectors. It has a normal viewing LCD QVGA screen of 2.2inches allowing the user to view their media privately if they want to.
Its simple touchpad on the side of the phone allows the user to scroll through menus easily.
The projector is pretty powerful and can project images on surfaces of a range of sizes .The largest screen is a 50 inch screen. This application is powered by new technology which is the same used in home theater projectors and HDTV’s. The image is bright when the distance between the projector and the screen is about 3 feet. The inbuilt speakers on the player make it even handier. In addition to these speakers, the phone also comes with a 3.5mm jack allowing a wide array of headphones to be used. This player also comes with a small screen holder along with a telescoping pole in it which can immediately transform any thin sheet into a vertical platform allowing media to be viewed on it. Any movie, file, photo, or document can be viewed on it.
The Samsung MBP200 Pico Projector can be connected to any Samsung phone or laptop easily. Media can directly be transferred. Another option is to use a MicroSD card.
The wide range of media formats supported include JPEG, GIF, animated GIF, MPB, DivX, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, Xvid, WMV9, MP3, WMA, AAC, WAV, OGG, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Excel and PDF. This makes it even more useful as it can be used at business conferences to carry out an entire presentation. See Samsung’s mobile site for updates on the Pico Projector.
Considering all these advantages, the Samsung MPB200 Pico Projector is definitely worth checking out as it takes viewing and entertainment to a different level.

Sony ElleSony Ericsson recently revealed information about a new mobile phone at a press conference held in China. This new model is called Sony Ericsson T707 and goes by the code name Elle for the time being. Sony Ericsson has released only limited information on this therefore there are not many image previews available on this one. Somehow according to what we heard it’s a flip phone (clamshell) but since it carries the T series name tag it cannot be either a Walkman or Cyber Shot. We can safely assume that this phone therefore will carry a bit of all the sophisticated features that Sony Ericsson has gathered from all its products.

The T707 which is said to resemble the W508 and Z610 in certain ways is expected to come in 5 colors; orange, green, pink/violet, blue and black. The specifications which are out at the moment suggest that it’s quad-band on GSM and dual-band on UMTS and HSDPA. The main display is of 2.2inches with QVGA resolution. But sources say there is also a smaller display on the outside.

The camera claims to be 3.2megapixel with fixed focus. There is a memory card slot if you need any additional storage and the package offers you a 1GB memory card. Availability of A2DP Bluetooth is also confirmed. This phone, carrying dimensions of 93×50x14mm and weighing 98g is expected to reach the markets in May 2009. For more information check out GSM Arena.

Although Sony Ericsson has not yet officially mentioned anything about the prices, you can check out some of the Sony Ericsson T707 Elle contracts that are going to be available online. This will help you get a head start. These Sony Ericsson T707 Elle deals play a great role in bringing down the cost of the phone and also giving you the best tariffs by some of the leading service providers in UK. The Samsung Omnia Lite will be one of the first mid-range touchscreen phones from Samsung and we think it’s going to be a cracker. Although not as fully spec’ed as many other touchscreen devices out there, we think it’s got enough going for it to be a more than decent (and definitely affordable option) come its release date later this year.

One of the biggest plus points for the Samsung Omnia Lite, in our humble opinion, is the inclusion of version 2.0 of TouchWiz, Samsung’s User Interface that makes navigating through all the different menus and functions of the phone an absolute pleasure. Too many touchscreen interfaces are clunky and seem barely designed with actual users in mind, so it’s great to see Samsung updating an already decent piece of kit. In a similar way, the 3D multimedia player looks like it’ll be great fun to use, as well as being functional. There’s also multi-push email access, Microsoft Office Suite and HSDPA and WiFi connectivity, plus an integral Opera Browser for the smoothest internet browsing around. The 3 megapixel camera might not be the best around but it’ll do for most day-to-day usage, and the now standard A-GPS completes a modestly impressive line up.

And thanks to the trimmings Samsung have made from the typical beefcakes of the Omnia range, you’ll also be pleased to hear the Lite comes in a slim, if not quite dinky, package too. At just 13mm thick it’s one of the slimmest smartphones around in fact.

So if you want a whole range of functions at your fingertips but don’t want to rob a bank to afford them, there’s a good chance you’re going to be made very happy indeed by the Samsung Omnia Lite B7300. Check out this longer Samsung Omnia Lite review for more persuading.

Samsung S5600Samsung added another touch phone to its mobile phones portfolio recently; the Samsung S5600. It uses Samsung’s TouchWiz interface and carries a 2.8inch QVGA resolution display. The camera is of 3MP with Smile Shot and video capturing enabled. The built in accelerometer helps to rotate the screen to orientate it to the angle which you’re holding it; landscape or portrait.
It looks quite professional, business-like and funky at the same time so in no doubt will be a delight to carry it around in your hand and show to your friends as your latest phone! Having 103mmx55mmx12.9mm as dimensions it weighs only 96g so you would barely feel it in your hand.
You can get it in quad-band 850/900/1800/1900MHz for GSM and dual-band 900/2100MHz for UMTS coverage. There’s also high speed internet connection for internet downloads using HSDPA. With Samsung S5600 you can now identify the names and the artists of the songs you don’t know by using the Shazam music recognition service. This function helps you identify song names by making a quick recording of the audio.
Samsung S5600 also carries Gesture Lock feature. This comes helpful in unlocking the phone by drawing a symbol of a letter on the screen. You can obtain worth of talk time of 3hrs and 12.5 days to keep the phone on standby mode from the 1000mAh battery.
Samsung S5600 carries all the features any mobile user is looking for in a mobile phone. This phone is expected to be available in the European markets from May 2009 onwards. Check out this Samsung S5600 review for more information.
Although Samsung has not specified any information on pricing so far, you can check out some of the Samsung S5600 contracts which some of the leading network providers are offering. These contracts play an important role in bringing down your financial burden significantly by offering you installment payments. With Samsung S5600 deals you can choose the options which you prefer the most and sometimes even win free gifts.

They say you learn something every day. What they don’t say is how interesting / impressive / life-changing that thing is going to be. And while we don’t want to downplay our own blogging, today’s bit of education might not be up there with, well, most of the things you’ve ever learnt before. Ever. Because today’s lesson is about active-matrix organic light-emitting diodes. You know, active-matrix organic light-emitting diodes! Or AMOLEDs as they prefer to be known as.

The Samsung Omnia Pro has a whopping 3.5” AMOLED touchscreen, which will probably be amongst sharpest, clearest and brightest screens you’ve ever seen. And the best thing about these type of screens is that unlike all their rivals, they consume significantly less power. So you won’t need to be turning up the brightness to impress your mates, only to then have to turn it down again to conserve battery life once no one’s looking. So there you are then: you now know what AMOLEDs are. Told you you wouldn’t be impressed.

And, to be honest, we have a sneaking suspicion that not everyone is going to be all that impressed with the Samsung Omnia Pro B7610, because even though this AMOLED thang sounds impressive now, come the reputed Samsung Omnia Pro B7610 launch date of “sometime in October” this won’t be the only AMOLED-faced phone on the block. It does have a good range of all the usual smartphone gadgets though (A-GPS, WiFI, 3.5G, FM radio, solid internet browsing) so we might well be proved wrong.

Check out a full Samsung Omnia Pro review here to find out all the other facts and features, or the slightly annoyingly video below:
