The mobile phone market seems to be all over the place. There were some very expensive mobile phones released in 2009 with a few more posed to be released in 2010.  The low end of the market is also seeing a deluge of products.  It seems that mobile manufacturers can’t really decide where to target so there are targeting everywhere. The global recession has made it necessary, for businesses, even those that normally wouldn’t target low-budget customers, to do so.

The LePhone is a good first effort for Lenovo. The specs are very respectable and the phone should garner some positive attention. The big drawback is that many mobile phone customers may not have heard of the brand and this may hurt them some.  However, the product itself is good.  It has a 3.7 inch 800 x 480 capacitive touchscreen display, A-GPS, Wi-Fi,  utilizes a  1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon.   The LePhone also has 2 cameras, one which is 3 megapixels, a 3.5mm headphone jack and 3G connectivity.  Individuals that need to add additional memory to the phone can do so simply by purchasing a microSD card.

There are a number of applications that can be downloaded and ran on the phone. One of the most notable and impressive is the New Media Player with DivX support.  The phone also allows individuals to stay connected with whatever social networking web sites they are members of.  Individuals will be able to access sites such as Facebook right from their mobile phone.
