In case you didn’t know (and who’s to blame you, not paying as much attention as you would to things like mobile phone manufacturers quarterly reports as, say, geeks like us) Motorola are, well, not doing very well at all, to put it politely. And although this range of Motorola phones might suggest otherwise, they’ve been releasing nothing of note for some time now.
However, all hail the Motorola ZN50. It might not be enough to save the ailing company. It isn’t actually a stonker of a phone (just a rather good one), but we think it shows Motorola still have some balls, some skills and more than enough ability to make a pretty damn sexy phone when they want to.
As the (terrible) name suggests, the ROKR is a music-focused phone, and everything we’ve seen of it so far would put it in a very decent place amongst all the other music-centric phones currently out there. The so-called Panoramic UI is also interesting from what we’ve seen, although it might be borrowing just a little too heavily from Google’s Android. You’ll also find a mid-range camera, a nice TV tuner option, expandable memory up to 16GB and all the usual GPS / WiFi / Bluetooth shenanigans on-board too.
The sad news is this thing will be available only in Korea to start with, but if – as we predict – sales are good, you can more or less guarantee this thing will be winging its way west sometime soon. The brand new Samsung F270 is a phone that is due to be released any day now and offers a good set of high quality features which are ideal for personal users. I’ve also seen a couple of Samsung F270 reviews which seem to indicate that this phone is a great music phone and will be a great asset to any personal user. The phone’s features are great and I’d highly recommend this phone to anyone who wants a personal mobile phone that’s good value for money.
I’ve also seen there are a lot of Samsung F270 Payg deals available and I think that as we closer to Christmas you’ll be able to get some great mobile deals on all mobile phones on the market. I’ve also seen that the Samsung F270 contracts are available for free on most networks and that is always a good thing. I’ve got to say I really like this phone and I think it’s definitely worth the purchase and it’ll probably be a very popular phone for a long time.
Overall, the Samsung F270 Beat is a great looking phone with a good set of basic features and is probably one of Samsung’s best basic mobile phones. There are also a few Samsung F270 videos which are worth watching if you’re interested in this phone because it’ll give you a closer look at the high quality features and you’ll also get to see the phone in action before you buy it which is something I’d recommend no matter what phone you’re interested in. All in all, the Samsung F270 is a great phone and I’d highly recommend it to personal users.
Toshiba is venturing into the mobile phone market with the Toshiba TG01. This handset measures an impressive 9.9mm thick and comes with an impressive 4.1 inch VGA touch screen. Not bad if you compare that to LG’s new offering the LG Arena which comes with poultry 3 inch screen in comparison.
The Toshiba TG01 will also sport 1 GHZ chip which it claims is the fastest chip available in any mobile phone at the current time. This in theory should allow it to do more faster. However Toshiba is not well known for creating mobile phone handsets and so we are yet to see whether or not this power is translated into efficiency.
Another feature of the TG01 is its G sensor which allows you to tilt the phone around a central spot for navigation. It may be me but I’m just not sure how this will work and having not had a go with it I don’t know how it will perform. The TG01 will be up against the likes of the Nokia N97, the Blackberry Curve and the LG Arena KM900, so there is some fairly stiff completion around for it.
However we like the first look of the TG01 and it has some pretty great features such as 3G HSDPA and GPS connectivity. We hope to see the TG01 on the following networks O2 Orange Vodafone T Mobile Virgin
As there is no word on a network exclusive yet. We love this handset and think it will be a big seller in 2009.
The recently released Motorola Krave ZN4 is a brand new phone from Motorola which offers touch screen technology and a flip style design. However, I’m not convinced that this phone is good enough to compete in the open market and I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who feels like this. I’ve seen a lot of Motorola Krave ZN4 reviews and most of them seem to suggest that this phone simply isn’t good enough and just because it’s touch screen doesn’t mean it can compete with the iPhone and other high spec mobile phones and manufacturers – and I have to agree – it really isn’t all that.
I’ve seen some pretty good Motorola Krave ZN4 deals available and I think a lot of them are pretty good value for money. However, the phone isn’t all that great so you’d expect a slightly lower price because of the lack of features. If you’re interested in the Motorola Krave ZN4 contract phone then you should definitely shop around because although mobile phone deals are getting better you will want to make sure you get yourself the best deal with this phone. As we get nearer to Christmas, the deals will get better and better though so you should be able to pick up a bargain.
Overall, the Motorola Krave isn’t a great phone but it isn’t terrible either – it does have some good features such as the TV tuner which means you can watch TV on your mobile. The phone is stylish and I’d say is pretty good looking but unfortunately there are some design issues which make the phone a little unusable sometimes so be careful. If you have a look at the Motorola Krave ZN4 video review then you’ll see what I mean. All in all though, the phone has a lot to offer and is a nice looking phone with ok features.
The brand new Motorola Aura is an amazing luxury handset which has a great set of design features which make it an unbeatable device in terms of looks and style. The phone was designed to be a stylish handset and so the features are a bit limited but considering the beautiful look and feel of this phone you can’t complain. The phone’s price tag is a little high at around £1200 but it’s well worth it because the Motorola Aura is completely unique and full of style and sophistication – more so than any other phone available. I think the best deals are available with the Motorola Aura orange contract.
The Motorola Aura video that I’ve seen shows the phone in a lot more detail than I can explain and is definitely worth watching so you can appreciate what this phone is all about. The Swiss Watch designers that helped create this phone are definitely going to get a huge pat on the back. The phone is simply breathtaking and you can’t find anything else like it on the market today. Aura reviews that I’ve read seem to suggest that if you want the Motorola Aura on contract you’d be best off looking around for quite some time. Having said that, the phone won’t drop below its huge price tag for quite some time and when you consider the front plate of the phone takes two weeks to make alone – you can understand why. Mobile phone contracts and deals are usually pretty good at the moment but I think you’ll have to wait a long time for the Motorola Aura to drop in price. You’d be better off biting the bullet and saving up for this phone now. It’s a great phone and I really do think it’s worth every penny. The design is flawless and I really can’t see anything wrong with this phone at all.
