It’s not often than learning all about a new phone gives us goosebumps and a fear of going to sleep when the long day is done, but the GW520 has done just that. Promoting itself heavily via two main points – firstly, that you can use push technology to receive constant updates from both emails and social networking sites, and secondly that it’s high speed internet access and software will make uploading things like photos to sites such as Facebook – we realised that this might be a phone for ‘the kids.’ You know the ones. You might even be one. Playing loud music on the buses. Shouting and screaming at each other. And constantly taking pictures of each other doing the most boring, inane things. Look! Shazza’s yawning! Take a picture with your LG GW520. Look! Shazza’s stopped yawning! Take a picture! You know the ones.
So while the LG GW520 might not be for us, there’s definitely going to be a large audience for this phone. It’s internet is indeed fast at 7.2mps, its slide-out QWERTY keyboard might make style gurus vomit in their mouth a little, but for the kids with their nimble fingers, this will make messaging / emailing / Facebookstatusupdating happen even quicker than ever before. Pretty soon they won’t need to interact with the real world at all. Look! Shazza’s updating her status on he phone! Quick, take a… and so on. More specs and less early-middle-aged cynicism in this LG GW520 review. The LG GW520 will be available any day now on just about any provider you want.
