The HTC Touch Diamond 2, unveiled during the MWC 2009, is set to replace the Original Diamond and is taking its place as the flagship phone of HTC.
The HTC Touch Diamond 2 makes use of the TouchFLO 3D user interface, which has been embedded more deeply into a more customized version of Windows Mobile 6.1 to ensure consistency throughout the menus. All the touch focus parts have been made bigger so that they will be more touch-friendly.
The HTC Touch Diamond 2 gives the user an extremely advanced touch experience which is meant for use with a single hand. With at least 50% better battery life, a 5 MPIX snapper with auto focus, an expandable microSD memory card slot, ambient light sensor and a gravity sensor, the Diamond2 gives some amazing capabilities to a very broad audience which wants a professional phone without giving up on the looks.
The Diamond2 gives the user a single contact view in the phonebook which shows the history with the contact in all forms of communication. This can be seen from the contact card or on the in-call screen when you are talking with the person. The Push Internet technology is also onboard, which saves important elements of frequently used web pages so that they can be accessed immediately and quickly when needed.
The Diamond2 is an extremely beautiful phone which has been made to fit into the hand and evolves from the iconic style and the compact design of the original Diamond. It has a 3.2” high-res VGA display to enable great viewing in just 13.7 mm of thickness. A touch-sensitive zoom bar is also available for quick zooming.
The second quarter of the year will see the release of the Diamond2. However, the pricing details have not been revealed as of yet!
