It’s not often that we find we’ve got little to say here. But we’ve got little to say here. It’s all the fault of LG and whatever dodgy deals they’ve done with Orange and T-Mobile, because as we’ve come to review the LG GT505 (available exclusively on Orange, and coming to shelves very soon) we’ve realised that it is exactly – exactly! – the same as the GT500 reviewed a couple of posts earlier.

Which is no bad thing, of course. The GT500 (available exclusively on T-Mobile) is a pretty decent, if not groundbreaking mid-ranger. Something that’ll keep you ticking along nicely. We’re just a little stumped as to why the LG GT505 deserves a number all of its own, and a slightly less cool one than the GT500.

But wait… what’s that you say?…. you’ve found a difference? The GT505 comes preloaded with Wisepilot – a turn-by-turn navigation program that even offers voice instruction and a choice of 2D and 3D mapping. Good lord, that is indeed a difference… what’s that though? It only comes pre-loaded with a 30-day trail? Ah. Well then. That’s not really a difference at all, is it? Oh dear.

Anyway, we’re not at all suggesting the GT505 is bad, wrong, or even immoral. Though we might say that about LG themselves for trying to fob us off with even the hint that the GT505 is in any way original (or exclusive). Shame on them. Check out a LG GT505 review here to see for yourself it’s just-like-the-GT500-ness.
