Nokia 6700 SlideNokia just announced that it was releasing two 3G Slider handsets, the 6700 Slide and the 7230. Both are compatible with the UMTS/3G network. Each can also be used to participate at social networking sites directly from the phone. The Nokia 6700 is definitely the superstar of the two.  It has a 5 megapixel camera fitted with optics from Carl Zeiss, FM radio and music player. It comes with 45 MB of internal memory which can be increased up to 16 GB with the use of MicroSD memory card. It utilizes a S60 based operating system. The 6700 can be purchased in several colors including purple, pink, lime, red, aluminum and petrol blue.

The other phone is the Nokia 7230. It is also a 3G slider. It features a 3.2 megapixel camera, 2.4 inch display screen, audio messaging, FM radio and Bluetooth. It will use a S40 operations system and comes in two colors, hot pink and graphite. Both of these phones will be available during the first quarter of 2010.

The Nokia 6700 and 7230 are two of the company’s newest mobile phones. They both contain many features which now come standard in most smartphones. The 6700 is obviously the “pretty sister” of the two. It offers users more memory, Bluetooth, a 5 megapixel camera, FM radio and a music player.

Nokia 7230The 7230, isn’t bad. It’s just not the 6700. There are fewer features. The price of both phones reflects the differences. It is important to remember that the phone which has the most features isn’t necessarily the right phone for a particular person. People have different needs. Some persons will not require a 5 megapixel camera or 45 MB of space. For these individuals, it would make more sense to buy the cheaper phone and pocket the difference.  It makes little sense to spend more money the necessary.

Nokia 6700 Slide and Nokia 7230 announced, finally. However, the phones won’t be available for purchase until the first quarter of 2010. Both will be sold for under €175.
