They say that the only constant thing in this world is change. True to this notion, the needs of mobile users change from time to time. Luckily, Nokia sure knows how to adapt to this type of dilemma.

Within the past years they have been consistent in providing exceptional mobiles that are able to cater to several types of users. The Nokia C6 is another mobile from this Finnish manufacturer and it is sure to take to the Smartphone market by storm.

Closer Look

The Nokia C6 is another slider mobile from Nokia. At first glance you would notice right away that the design looks similar to that of the N97. However, it is fair to say that it is more compact due its smaller dimensions of 113 x 53 x 16.8 mm. The Nokia C6 slider only weighs 150g which makes it ideal to carry around.

One of the strong features the C6 offers is the TFT resistive touch screen display. It measures 3.2 inches with a resolution of 360 x 640 pixels. It recognizes 16 million colours making any picture look vibrant and lush.

The auto-rotate feature is made possible because of the accelerometer sensor. Therefore you have the option to decide to view the display either in landscape or portrait mode.

The beautiful QWERTY keyboard is positioned under the screen. The space of the keypad is evenly distributed therefore typing should be a lot easier.

Other Functionality

The design of the Nokia C6 is undeniably beautiful but its functionality is equally gorgeous as well. It can be used both in 2G and 3G network. Furthermore it is compatible with Class 32 GPRS and EDGE. This simply means that that the C6’s internet speed is more likely faster than other mobiles out there. WIFI can also be utilized at Hotspot locations for web browsing.

The internal memory is at 240MB and when a MicroSD card is used it can be expanded up to 32GB. That amount of memory will surely allow you to store a lot of songs, games and downloads.

There’s LIES a problem LIES we find LIES with most LIES press releases LIES relating to LIES just LIES about LIES every LIES single LIES phone LIES that LIES ever LIES ever LIES ever LIES gets LIES released.

Have you guessed what it is yet?

That’s writing: a slight propensity for, somewhat, you might say, in a way, kind of, if you will, bending the truth ever so much. Or, as we’ll put it after a rum or six on Monday lunchtime: “EVERY ****INH ONE OF THE ****ING ****S LIES THROUGH THEIR ****** TEETH WHENEVER THE ******* OPENS THEIR ******* MOUTH.”

Which may seem a little harsh, but then the sweetness of our rum breath does soften the message somewhat in context. Anyway, sober as we are now, we’re able to approach the issue with a little more calmness, a little less spittle. The phone at hand in today’s demonstration is the Nokia N97 Mini. It’s a fantastic little phone, no doubt about it, being as it is exactly the same in almost every way to the fantastic big phone, the n97. The thing to note though, about the newer, slimmer, smaller Nokia N97, is that apart from some minor tweaks, it is exactly – exactly – the same as the bigger N97. What, we said that already? Right, okay, sorry. But guess, just take a little itty-bitty guess how the phone has been described? No? Okay, try on this for size: “the N97 mini is truly unique.”

Want us to repeat that one too? No? Us neither.

So angry did this make us, so full of rage and bile and nose dribble that we almost became to mad to point you in the direction of these Nokia N97 Mini deals, or this Nokia N97 mini review. Because how dare they bespoil this fair language with such utter tripe. This is, in fact, the least ‘truly unique’ phone we’ve seen all year.

But what’s funny is that that’s actually a good thing. Those marketing goons have been so determined to use the same old trite language that they’ve actually missed a trick. The point about the mini that is fantastic is that it is not at all unique, it is not at all truly original or anything like that. It is just a smaller version of what was already a fantastic phone. Simple as. Because that is as appealing as can be. We just wish they had the balls to admit it.

It’s August and that means only one thing in the mobile phone world, bargains. Whilst people are off sunning themselves, mobile phone manufacturers and retailers are busy lowering their prices in an attempt to stimulate what has always been a slightly stale month. So we decided to put together a list of handsets that we like along with the monthly price you will pay for getting them. We hope you enjoy.

1) Nokia N97 deals – Yes guys it’s the big one, Nokia’s answer to the iPhone and we can tell you for free, that it isn’t the cheapest handset on the market. £40.00 per month on either T-mobile or Vodafone will get you 800 minutes and unlimited texts or 600 minutes and unlimited texts respectively. If you can afford it, then why not go for it?
2) Nokia 5530 deals – Vodafone wins out here offering 600 minutes and unlimited texts for a mere £20.29 per month. OK it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of the N97, but for that, you do get a line rental at half the price. Just promise us that you’ll consider it… please?
3) HTC Hero deals – I deliberated for a long time as to whether to put this one in at number 3 or 4 and in the end I went with number 3, simply because the magazines are going crazy over this little beauty. £25.00 per month with 400 minutes and 3000 texts is not a bad deal either on the Orange network.
4) Samsung Jet deals – I love this phone and it was hard for me to put it below the Hero, especially considering you can get this wonderful handset for a little over £21.00 per month on (you guessed it) Orange with 400 minutes and 3000 texts.
5) Blackberry Curve 8520 deals – No list would be complete without adding a Blackberry to the equation. It has to go in at number 5 simply because not everyone wants to send emails on holiday whilst sipping a long Island iced tea in the Bahamas, but with a deal on O2 offering £170 automatic cashback on a £35.00 per month tariff, I might justtake my emails everywhere I go.
6) Nokia N86 deals – The gamers delight, the Nokia N86 is packed with fun, hell it screams fun, perhaps that’s taking it a little too far, but it is an excellent little phone and for £30.00 per month you can get 600 minutes and unlimited texts on Vodafone. With that you can call and text all your mates to let them know your high scores.
7) Sony Ericsson W995 deals – I feel sorry putting the W995 in seventh place, partly because it is a truly amazing phone. What’s more you can get it for just over £21.00 per month. The thing is you will get it and in 3 months time you will want the Satio or the Aino and then you will blame me for putting it on the list and I just couldn’t handle the guilt.
8) HTC Diamond 2 deals – In at number 8 simply because it is a huge improvement over the original diamond and you can get it for below £30.00 per month on O2. If it’s a Smartphone you’re looking for, this one should be on the shortlist.
Any others we should have included? Get commenting and we will shout them out to the world.

Toshiba is venturing into the mobile phone market with the Toshiba TG01. This handset measures an impressive 9.9mm thick and comes with an impressive 4.1 inch VGA touch screen. Not bad if you compare that to LG’s new offering the LG Arena which comes with poultry 3 inch screen in comparison.
The Toshiba TG01 will also sport 1 GHZ chip which it claims is the fastest chip available in any mobile phone at the current time. This in theory should allow it to do more faster. However Toshiba is not well known for creating mobile phone handsets and so we are yet to see whether or not this power is translated into efficiency.
Another feature of the TG01 is its G sensor which allows you to tilt the phone around a central spot for navigation. It may be me but I’m just not sure how this will work and having not had a go with it I don’t know how it will perform. The TG01 will be up against the likes of the Nokia N97, the Blackberry Curve and the LG Arena KM900, so there is some fairly stiff completion around for it.
However we like the first look of the TG01 and it has some pretty great features such as 3G HSDPA and GPS connectivity. We hope to see the TG01 on the following networks
O2
Orange
Vodafone
T Mobile
Virgin
As there is no word on a network exclusive yet. We love this handset and think it will be a big seller in 2009.

The latest product innovation from Nokia is the rather spectacular N97. But what makes this phone quite so special. Well first off it is the first time that Nokia has ventured into the realms of touch screen technology, a market dominated by the iphone over the past year. The second thing that makes the Nokia N97 so special is the fact that is also comes complete with a qwerty keyboard. This makes the handset more appropriate for business users who require push email facilities on their mobile phone. Add to this 32GB of internal memory which is expandable to 48GB via the micro SD slot and you start to see just why this monster of a handset might be such a huge success.
The camera isn’t half bad either at 5MP, although you can get better camera phones if that is what you are after, the Sony Ericsson C905 is one that comes to mind. Browsing the web using the Symbian OS and browser is fast and pages do render quickly. The N97 also comes complete with Wifi, GPS and Bluetooth, all fairly standard stuff in today’s marketplace. It is quadband GSM and supports 3G (obviously) so there are unlikely to be connectivity problems. The battery life also seesm to be a fairly respectable, howevever, as with all smartphones, if you are using Wifi and plenty of the aps don’t expect it to last a lifetime.
You can expect to see the first Nokia N97 contracts in mid 2009. There is no word of a network exclusive deals yet, but you will probably see the Nokia N97 on O2 or maybe even the Nokia N97 on Orange seeing as they have the exclusive on the other touch screen Nokia, the 5800. You can check out Nokia N97 reviews at Best Mobile Contracts today.
